About Me

Ever since i can remember. I have always loved hair. I would watch my mother do my grandmothers hair and all the church ladies hair. When i was about 13 years old, i asked my mom if i could do my own hair. I experimented with color, braids, weaves and anything having to do with hair. Then friends started to ask if i could do their hair. Soon i was doing everyone's hair in the neighborhood, lol

@Denise,
A very moisturizing line of hair care products is Keracare, and i really like Mizani moisturizing conditioner. After shampooing a moisturizing leave-in should also help-ex:Neutrogena Triple Moisture leave-in, then apply a small amount of your favorite oil (to seal in moisture) coconut, almond, olive etc.

@Rev. Sidnel,
My suggestion for your oldest daughter would be to incorporate a protein conditioner (to strengthen) and relaxer should only be applied 8-12 weeks. For breakage at nape, only apply relaxer to that area, every other touch-up (to give that area a rest) and relax that area last. Also protective styling will help until hair is stronger.
examples of protective styles: braids, buns, weave, wigs.
Please keep me updated on her progress, and feel free to ask questions

My oldest daughter has a relaxer.
Felicia Comment by Felicia on December 30, 2009 at 2:12pm
Greetings Rev. Sidnei,

For dry hair, find a good moisturizer(lotion or creme) to put on hair after washing. Then after moisturizing, seal with oil ex: coconut oil, olive oil,etc.
conditioner alone probably won't relieve dryness, but a good moisturizing conditioner, a moisturizer, then seal with oil.

A good detangler is a moisturizing conditioner with coconut oil added.
Try this on dry hair, sectioning the hair and applying the conditioner in sections, root to ends, like when applying a relaxer. Put on a plastic cap or bag, and wrap a towel around the head for at least 1/2 hour, rinse, moisturize (lotion or creme) seal with oil, proceed with styling. This should help detangle and moisturize.

Does your oldest daugther have a relaxer? or natural?

Hello, Lady Fefe, I have four daughters and we have brittle,sandy brown hair which stays dry even when we use conditioner. My oldest daughter as she grew the back of her hair will not grow. What can I use on her hair? My baby girl, her hair is very long and most detanglers don't work well on her hair. She is six can you make any suggestions?
